OVGI Celebrates the Season at Annual Holiday Luncheon
Along with hundreds of staff, Board members and special guests, Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries celebrated the holiday season on Friday, December 19th with a gala luncheon held at the Sharonville Convention Center. The annual holiday tradition included several special guests this year including United States Congresswoman Jean Schmidt and Joe Uecker of the Ohio House of Representatives, as well as many other local civic leaders. During the luncheon, the organization recognized former Board Chairman, Jim Armour for his many years of service and leadership, the Palazzolo Company for their dedication to Goodwill over the past forty-three years, and two staff members for twenty years of tenure.
Goodwills Service Guild also presented President and CEO, Joe Byrum with a check for $15,000 to be used for programs and services to assist man and women with disabilities and other vocational needs in the coming year. The luncheon was capped by the presentation of the annual video showcase which provides a snapshot of the people and services that Goodwill provides throughout the year. "We are always so pleased that we can come together to share the holiday spirit and look back on our achievements over the year," said Joe Byrum. We wish everyone the best holiday wishes and look forward to continuing our tradition of providing caring services in the coming year."
Ohio Valley President and CEO Joe Byrum was pleased to welcome newly elected State Representative Connie Pillich to Goodwills corporate headquarters following the luncheon event, for a comprehensive tour of its program and services. The Representative was delighted to learn about the organizations programs for veterans, individuals with disabilities, and its many training and job placement services. Ohio Valley Goodwill has a long, rich history of working positively with our elected representatives and looks forward to continuing that collaborative tradition with State Representative Pillich into the future, said Joe Byrum, President and CEO.
